Systems Divison’s USO Sponsorship
The USO’s mission is to enhance the quality of life of the US Armed Forces personnel and their families worldwide and to create a cooperative relationship between US military communities and involved or supporting civilian communities.
ITT has always portrayed certain values in its marketing campaigns and community outreach programs, values that are common to our employees and the soldiers we support. These values include a strong sense of community, integrity and hard work.
The USO shares the same values in supporting the morale of our men and women in uniform. With these shared values and the common goal to support those who serve our nation, ITT has joined in partnership with the USO by providing corporate financial support to the mission of the Rocky Mountain and Southwest Asia USO.
Today, the USO is alive and well, observing 65 years of serving our soldiers and their families around the world. To support troops participating in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, USO centers opened in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Qatar. Recently, the USO opened the Rocky Mountain USO Center at the Denver International Airport. Last year it was estimated that more than 5,000 service men and women visited the Denver Airport USO lounge each month, many with sand still in their uniforms. The lounge provides similar services that the airline industry provides to their customers. The lounge is equipped with phone stations for local and long distance calls, computer stations for checking e-mails and web-browsing, X-box systems, televisons, movie monitors and a place to relax.
The USO is a non-profit organization that depends on contributions from individuals and corporations such as ITT. Thanks in part to our donations, the USO continues to provide support services to approximately 348,000 military personnel and their families at home and abroad.
